3:00 - 5:00pm PRE-CONFERENCE BONUS SESSION: Natural Gas Vehicles – 400s Corridor

Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) are getting increased industry attention as another way that our industry can contribute to energy and environmental solutions.  This session is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction on the potential to grow the use of NGVs in Colorado.  Increasing the use of NGVs would allow Colorado to use less foreign oil and more Colorado natural gas while reducing emissions!  This win-win solution will be explored including how NGV infrastructure has been developed in neighboring Utah, what Colorado can do to grow our own infrastructure, and what’s happening across the country to encourage this exciting trend.  This is a must-attend panel for anyone curious about the future of natural gas in Colorado.

1:00 - 3:00pm CONFERENCE PANEL 2: Hydraulic Fracturing and Other Environmental Conundrums – 400s Corridor

Dawn is breaking on a new energy day that will be fueled by abundant, often indigenous, low-carbon, low-cost energy worldwide. In the last decade, advancing technology has dramatically improved the environmental footprint of natural gas extraction, and more environmental leaders are embracing natural gas as an abundant, cost-effective air emissions solution.  In this panel, the natural gas industry and environmental leaders continue their dialog in search of innovative solutions and common ground. In particular, the panel examines the true costs and benefits of hydraulic fracturing. The abundant natural gas hidden in the earth's most vast and stubborn reservoirs provides a more than 100-year supply today only because of pathways opened by the strength and guile of this modern technology. Originated in Oklahoma in the '40s and advanced in the Rockies since the '80s, hydraulic fracturing is the essential key to creating the natural gas reserve abundance that changes the energy game. With intelligent, good-faith communication, environmental and natural gas leaders are closing the perceived gap to thoughtful energy infrastructure development.

8:30 - 10:15am CONFERENCE PANEL 3: Competing to Generate Electricity? Natural Gas, Renewables, and Efficiency Combined Can Shine – 400s Corridor

Leaders across the United States are recognizing the importance of using domestic, clean-burning natural gas for electricity generation. At the same time, renewable development continues to expand. Abundant, domestic natural gas reserves require increased access to electricity generation markets to reach their potential of reducing air emissions and backing up renewable energy. An unbeatable combination, natural gas and renewables must work together with energy efficiency improvements to provide utility-scale, long-term energy solutions. This panel addresses ways in which natural gas and renewable energy leaders can work together, both operationally and politically, to ensure a secure, reliable, low-emissions energy future. This collaboration is not happening spontaneously. Outdated laws and regulations and historic misunderstandings must be identified and overcome so that the fuels of the future can move forward effectively together.

10:15 - 3:00pm SUPER SESSION: Pipeline & Midstream- Positioning Rockies Gas In A Market Characterized By Growing Supplies In Other Regions – 400s Corridor

SUPER SESSION CHAIR: David Posner, President, EnVent Energy LLC

With the emergence of new supplies from other areas, the Rocky Mountain region faces increased competition to supply market needs.  New pipelines delivering supplies from Midcontinent shale plays to the Gulf to Northeast pipeline corridor are coming on line, and along with Northeastern shale production, have challenged the Rockies entry into Eastern US markets.  New Rockies export capacity to the West is scheduled to go into service in 2010 and 2011, further enhancing Rockies access to this market.  No longer suffering from export pipeline capacity limitations, the Rocky Mountain region is well piped with unique access through newer, highly efficient pipelines to both Eastern and Western markets.  How will these changes impact gas flows, market dynamics and future infrastructure development?  Growing the market in the Rocky Mountain region and throughout the US continues to be essential.  Through innovative new policy initiatives, the Rockies are leading the way in demonstrating that natural gas can play a critical role in providing a cleaner energy future in combination with renewable sources and energy efficiency.  These sessions will examine how Rockies gas will be delivered to diverse markets across the US.
